Silver medalist at the last Tokyo Olympic Games, the French men’s 5×5 team is already qualified for the 2024 edition as the organizing country. The French BasketBall Federation unveiled its preparation program this Monday, January 15.
The Blues will be brought together for training from Monday June 17 at INSEP. After fifteen days of preparation, they will head to Rouen to face Turkey, at the Kindarena on Wednesday July 3. The Tricolores will then travel to Germany to face the reigning World Champions on Saturday July 6at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, a well-known venue for the Blues for hosting the first round of EuroBasket 2022. Vincent Collet’s players will play revenge two days later, Monday July 8at the Sud de France Arena in Montpellier, before going to Lyon-Décines to meet Serbia, vice-world champion, the Friday July 12, in the superb LDLC Arena. The Blues will finish their preparation at the Co’Met Arena in Orléans with two new very tough oppositions, against Canada, bronze medalist at the 2023 World Cup, on Friday July 19then against Australia, the Sunday July 21, before joining Lille for the start of the Olympic Games.
