Together with Sport Vlaanderen, Badminton Vlaanderen strives for professionalism and quality in sport.
One of the important parameters is thorough training for officials and high participation of active officials across the entire sporting landscape.
Badminton Flanders scores good points at European level and the federation continues in this trend with a new training course for Umpire or Referee.
Boost your badminton career with an official training. Don’t wait too long to register.
Referee training
What does a referee do?
The referee is a key figure in every tournament because he/she ensures everything runs smoothly so that every participant can take his/her sporting chances in a fair manner. For the club you act as a source of information in the field of rules and regulations for matches, tournaments and competitions.
The referee training contributes to the personal development of an individual and will promote talents such as leadership, organizational skills (including planning), people management (e.g. dealing with players and coaches), sense of responsibility, mental resilience, stress management (e.g. situations on the court). and further develop objectivity under the guidance of experienced mentors.
Practical
Depending on the available tournaments, the training runs from February 2024 to May 2025, divided into a theoretical part (4 teaching days) and a practical part (viewing & do-stage) and an exam.
All details are listed here.
