Cycling: Les Mureaux, Thoiry, Mont Brouilly… This is what Paris-Nice 2024 will look like

The 82nd edition of Paris-Nice will start on Sunday March 3 from Les Mureaux, in the Yvelines department linked by agreement with ASO, also the organizer of the Tour de France. The race to the sun will take place two days west of Paris since the second stage will leave the following day from the famous Thoiry zoo, still in Yvelines.

The cycling event, which will end the following Sunday on the Promenade des Anglais, in Nice, will once again be marked by a team time trial from Tuesday, around Auxerre (Yonne). In 2023, victory in this very specific exercise went to the Jumbo Visma team of double winner of the Tour de France, the Dane Jonas Vingegaard.

With Evenepoel, without Alaphilippe?

A success which did not prevent the Slovenian Tadej Pogacar from crushing the competition in the race to the sun with three stage successes and the final general classification.

In 2024, if the field of contenders for victory is not yet known, the Belgian prodigy, Remco Evenepoel could well present himself at the start as Christian Prudhomme mischievously confided. “We can indeed hope so,” said the boss of the Tour de France with a smile.

The 2022 world champion would come in preparation before his big challenge of the season and the Critérium du Dauphiné – Tour de France sequence. His French teammate at Soudal-Quick Step, Julian Alaphilippe, should skip him and favor, like the outgoing winner Pogacar, the races in Italy with the Strade Bianche (March 2) then Tirreno – Adriatico (March 4 to 10).

As a reminder, Nice will also exceptionally host the arrival of the 2024 Tour de France, on Sunday July 21, due to the Olympic Games in Paris.
