It is an injury to the left foot that prevents the first-seeded Dane from playing Thursday’s match.
Already on Wednesday evening, after Axelsen had won his first match at the tournament in Odense, he came with a sad message.
Here it was a deeply frustrated Dane who said that he was in no way feeling good on the field and that he did not expect to be able to play Thursday’s match.
