Furkan Korkmaz’s Recovery Progress and Potential Return to the Sixers’ Lineup

Although Philadelphia talks almost exclusively about James Harden, there are other issues that concern the beginning of the Sixers’ season, such as Furkan Korkmaz’s injury. The Turkish player, who asked for a transfer last February due to his limited playing time, suffered a hamstring injury from which he is currently recovering.

Although it is too early to say one hundred percent, Derek Bodner of PHLY Sports He points out that the forward has made progress and could be ready to play in the 76ers’ final preseason friendly this Friday; information that corroborates the protagonist himself.

“I feel better. In reality it is a process that goes day by day. I’m very close to playing. I will be happy to see myself on the field,” says Korkmaz in statements collected by Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Although, as we said, last year was the worst of the six he has been in the Pennsylvania organization – the only one he knows in the NBA – Korkmaz seems to arrive at this 2023-24 campaign with renewed air, possibly pushed by the fact of having Nick Nurse as new coach, who arrived to replace the fired Doc Rivers.
