Serie A Releases Calendar for New Season: Napoli’s Debut and Exciting Derby Matches

Il Napoli Italian champion makes his debut in Frosinone. The first direct confrontation to the third, with Naples-Lazio e Rome-Milan. Inter-Milan the derby festival opens on the fourth day. There A league has drawn the calendar for the new season: it starts on 19 and 20 August with the first round, including advance. Only one midweek shift (Wednesday 27 September), the other 37 days all over the weekend. The only stops are those for the national teams (Sunday 10 September 2023, Sunday 15 October 2023, Sunday 19 November 2023 and Sunday 24 March 2024). No break, however, for the Christmas holidays: the field will take place on December 23rd (Saturday), on the 30th (another Saturday) and finally on January 6th (Sunday). Once again asymmetrical calendar, so the first return leg, for example, will not be the same as the first outward leg and so on.

The direct clashes of the first round

It begins on the third day, after the two in which high-ranking matches were forbidden: Napoli-Lazio and Roma-Milan. The first derby on 17 September: Inter-Milan, on the 4th day, like Juventus-Lazio, with Sarri who suffered the black and whites after Napoli (but there is a break between the two). On matchday 7, October 1, Atalanta-Juventus and Milan-Lazio. A week later, another derby: Juve-Toro. At the 9th Milan-Juventus, the 10th day was hot: Napoli-Milan and Inter-Roma. Rome derby on 12 November: Lazio-Roma at the 21st. The Italian derby next round, after the break: Juventus-Inter, on November 26th. In the next round Juventus-Naples. December 17 is the moment of Lazio-Inter, then fireworks for José Mourinho: December 23, Rome-Naples. On 30 December, Juventus-Roma.

The big matches of the return

Intense start to the second round. The 20th day, before returning, on January 14th, immediately baptized Milan-Roma. After an Inter-Atalanta in the 21st, then in the 22nd Lazio Napoli (January 28). At the 23rd the Italian derby, Inter-Juventus, then double big match on February 11, with Milan-Naples and Roma-Inter. We slip down to the 27th day for another thrilling match: Lazio-Milan and Naples-Juventus, which already risks being worth a large share of the Champions League race. The intense period of Lazio then lights up with Lazio-Juventus and Roma-Lazio at the 30th and 31st. The Rome derby also opens the row of three derbies in a row: after the Turin one, in the 33rd we have Milan-Inter. Juve-Milan follows, but also Napoli-Roma, which in the 34th opens Mourinho’s usual hot period, who then faces Juventus (35th) and Atalanta (36th). The last big challenge, Inter-Lazio in the penultimate match.

Le date day derby

Serie A is left with only three derbies, those of Milan, Turin and Rome, curiously, lined up in the second round: on the 31st, 32nd and 33rd matchdays. Inter-Milan opens the series on matchday 4, 17 September. And he also closes the series on the 33rd day, on April 21st. The Turin matches begin on the eighth day on 8 October, with Juventus-Turin, while the return is scheduled for the 32nd, on 14 April, at the home of the granata. Lazio-Roma is the highlight of the 12th first leg, while the second leg opens that row of three in a row, on the 31st day, on 7 April. A focus also on a regional derby: on the 11th day there is Salernitana-Naples, the return to the 20th.
