Mercato: tracked by Reims, striker Matthis Abline is popular in Ligue 1

After recruiting the very promising Oumar Diakité (Salzburg), who has signed up until 2028, Reims is scouring the market in search of another striker. Several avenues are explored, in particular the one leading to Rennais Matthis Abline. The Champagne club has not yet gone on the offensive in this case, but the young 20-year-old offensive player, supervised on several occasions, is a good internal. First downside: the price that Rennes would ask, namely 8 million euros. Another obstacle, competition, since Reims is not the only team to have expressed an interest in the French international Espoirs (4 caps, 1 goal) in recent weeks.

Not selected for the Euro in the category which starts this Thursday, June 22 for the Blueberries, the native of Angers comes out of a six-month loan to Auxerre, relegated to the second division. He had started very strong by quickly gaining his starting position before experiencing more difficulties. In 21 matches in all competitions with AJA, Matthis Abline scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists.

In France, Strasbourg but also Lorient, which had already manifested itself this winter, are keeping an eye on its situation, as is Sunderland (English D2). The player would rather see himself staying in Ligue 1 for the time being.
