The Samoilov brothers, seeded as number one, lost to Estonians 0-2 (19:21, 16:21) in the semi-final, but in the second semi-final Pļaviņš/Točs beat Bedrīti and Rinkeviču 2-0 (21:19, 21:17).
In the final, the Latvian duet defeated the Estonians 2-0 (22:20, 21:19), but the Samoilov brothers won 2-0 (21:17, 21:15) in the fight for bronze medals.
In the women’s tournament, four Latvian couples reached the quarterfinals, of which Beāte Liepājniece and Anija Ozoliņa, the first number of the tournament, reached the semifinals.
In the semi-finals, Liepājniece/Ozoliņa lost to the next winners of the tournament with 0-2 (18:21, 10:21), but in the fight for third place with 0-2 (19:21, 15:21) they lost to Lithuanians Ieva Vasiliųskaitei and Yekaterina Kovalska (4. ).
In the final of the women’s tournament, the Estonian women beat sisters Gerda and Rugili Rudzinskaites (2nd) from Lithuania 2-0 (21:14, 21:16).

In the men’s overall standings of the Baltic Championship, Pļaviņš and Točs took first place with 220 points, Korotkovs/Pīks were second with the same number of points, and Bedrītis/Rinkevičs ranked third with 160 points.
On the other hand, Hollasa/Remmelga became the winners in the women’s competition in the Baltic Championship with 200 points, the Grudzinskaites sisters won the second place with 180 points, and Vasiųskaite/Kovalska rounded off the top three with 130 points.
Liepāja hosted the stage of the Latvian championship for the third year in a row, this year the decisive stage of the Baltic championship was also taking place at the same time. A total of 38 men’s teams and 25 women’s duos had applied for the tournament.
This season, in the Latvian championship “DEPO Open 2023”, beach volleyball players compete in three stages and the final, which will take place on August 24 and 26 in Jurmala. All stages are held outside Riga, continuing to cover the regions of Latvia, and both men and women participate in all stages.
