Indonesia Must Be Satisfied as Runner-up Badminton Asia Junior

JAKARTA – Indonesia came out as runner-up at the Badminton Asia Junior Championships (BAJC) 2023 following the defeat in the men’s doubles by Muhammad Al Farizi/Nikolaus Joaquin to the Japanese pair Kenta Matsukawa/Daigo Tanioka in the final, Tuesday (11/7).

In the match that was held at the Amongrogo Sports Hall, Jogjakarta, Farizi/Joaquin had to admit the Matsukawa/Tanioka pair through a rubber game battle with a score of 11-21, 21-19, 13-21.

In this match, the Farizi/Joaquin pair admitted that they had brought out their best form.

“We have put out the best form of play in this match. Both of us have played to the maximum and put on the best game,” said Farizi, quoted from PBSI’s official statement.

In this match, Farizi/Joaquin said they made many unforced errors. When they were gaining momentum in the second game and excelled, in the third game their game even declined so that the pair from the Land of the Rising Sun won and led Japan to become champions.

“When we excelled in the second game, we even lost focus on the deciding game. Now we want to get up and want to win,” added Farizi.

The captain of the Indonesian team, Alwi Farhan, said he was proud of his colleagues. After making careful preparations, the achievements that have been inscribed are considered to be proud.

“I am proud of the struggle of my friends who have shown their best game. We are trying to get up to be able to achieve even better results, “Alwi said.
