Resignation? Future of NBA superstar LeBron James uncertain

Nothing came of LeBron James’ fifth title in the NBA.

The superstar clearly loses the “Best of Seven” series with the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Finals against the Denver Nuggets 4-0 and has to end the season with it.

Despite 40 points, James couldn’t prevent the “sweep” and was visibly disappointed at the subsequent press conference: “At this point in my career, I only play to win titles. I don’t get a kick when I’m in the conference finals. I’ve been there – many times. It’s not fun for me if I’m not a part of going to the finals.”

end of career? “I have to think about that”

The 38-year-old then even leaves his future open: “We’ll see what happens. There’s a lot I have to think about. I don’t know. I have a lot to think about, if I’m honest. As for me personally basketball goes on, there’s a lot to think about.”

As ESPN reports, a reporter asked James about his statements at the press conference how they should be interpreted. The points record holder replied: “Do I want to continue playing?”

When asked further if he would retire before next season, James said: “I’ll have to think about that.”
