Baltimore Ravens sign veteran cornerback Rock Ya-Sin

OWINGS MILLS — Despite not selecting a cornerback in the first round, the Baltimore Ravens found its owner three days after the end of the 2023 NFL Draft.

The former cornerback of Las Vegas Raiders, Rock Nowsigned with the Ravensthe team announced on Wednesday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it is for one season and up to $6 million, league sources Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Los Ravens have been looking for a starting cornerback after not renewing their contract with Marcus Peters in free agency. Ya-Sin plans to start on the opposite side of the three times elected to the Pro Bowl, Marlon Humphrey.

Acquired in a trade with the Indianapolis Colts by the quarterback chaser, Yannick Ngakouelast March, it was expected that Ya-Sin help solidify a weak link for the defense of the Raiders from a corner. He didn’t throw an interception for the second straight season — he had one in each of his first two seasons with the Colts— but he had seven passes defensed, the second-highest total in his four-year career.

Ya-Sin he also notched 45 tackles, 37 of them solo, and the first quarterback hit of his career in 2022.
