It’s the end of a long soap opera that has wreaked havoc in the world of French judo. But the standoff between Clarisse Agbégnénou and her Federation has finally found its epilogue. The Tokyo Olympic champion has agreed, according to L’Equipe, to once again wear the official judogi of the French team, with the Adidas logo, during competitions where she defends the tricolor colors, and no longer that of her personal partner, Mizuno. .
This episode comes a week after Teddy Riner’s decision to line up, too, behind his Federation and to wear the Adidas judogi even though an agreement signed with the governing bodies allowed him to fight with a kimono from his FightArt brand. . The Federation has won its standoff and the two stars of French judo will therefore compete in the Worlds with the official judogi of the French team next May for the Worlds in Doha.
