WHAT HAPPENED?
Arsenal have shown their mental steel this season when winning games in ‘bloody’ minutes. Mikel Arteta’s men were able to score late goals against Bournemouth, Aston Villa and Manchester United to seal the three points.
Pep Guardiola feels that Manchester City are starting to lose their determination to fight to the last drop as shown The Gunners after winning the English Premier League two seasons in a row.
WHAT PEP SAYS:
“They (Arsenal) haven’t won the Premier League for years and it gives you that [hasrat] extra to win the game in 93, 96, 98 minutes. That’s something they have and we don’t have because we’ve won two in a row, twice.” said the coach from Spain to Man City’s official website after beating Crystal Palace, Sunday (12/3).
THE SITUATION:
Guardiola quipped that players tend to drop their level after too many wins and claimed Arsenal were the clear favourites in the Premier League title race: “Arsenal are still the favorites because they are the front. Usually in this country when you win something…then don’t start the season [berikutnya] do well or there is another team that is better, your consistency disappears.”
“But, we are still here. Here [Liga Primer] is the best trophy and accolade we could have. I don’t know what will happen at the end of the season, but they know we still want to be there and will fight to be there.”
