According to Jeff Passan of the network ESPNthe Baltimore Orioles have reportedly agreed to terms on a one-year contract with right-handed starter Kyle Gibson.
Also according to Passan, the agreement will be formalized when Gibson’s medical examinations are successful.
Gibson had spent the past 18 months with the Philadelphia Phillies, who acquired him from the Texas Rangers in July 2021 at the trade deadline.
In Philadelphia, Gibson was 14-14 in 43 appearances (42 starts) with a 5.06 ERA. He made two appearances in the last playoffs, as the Phillies reached the World Series for the first time since 2009.
The 35-year-old Gibson played in his first All-Star Game of 2021 while playing with the Rangers. He is 89-91 in 10 major league seasons with the Minnesota Twins, Rangers and Phillies.
