For many years, Valentino Rossi was a central figure in MotoGP. That’s why, when he decided to retire, many people asked him to come back or return. Then, how does his former competitor, Marc Marquez respond to this?
Marc Marquez realizes that Rossi’s presence in MotoGP is always missed by many spectators. According to him, Rossi is a world racing legend. That’s why, it’s only natural that his action on the track is always eagerly awaited.
“There is always hope that he will return to MotoGP, he will always be missed (his fans),” said Marquez, quoted by detikOto from AS.

However, said Marquez, Rossi has determined his future. That is why, according to him, those who hope for The Doctor’s comeback to MotoGP, should be able to accept the situation.
“Some expect him to return (to MotoGP). Rossi has taken the step of retiring and I know very well he is missed in MotoGP. But this is a condition where you have to accept it, just like when other riders retire,” he said.

Marquez doesn’t like Rossi more and more
On the same occasion, Marquez also spoke about his deteriorating relationship with Rossi. He admitted that he had been a big admirer of Rossi. However, over time, that love turned into hate.
Marquez’s annoyance with Rossi became even more intense after the Sepang Clash event at the Malaysian MotoGP, five seasons ago. At that time, he suspected that Rossi had kicked or stabbed his foot in the direction of his motorbike.

After the incident, the relationship between Rossi and Marquez became tenuous. In fact, let alone talk to each other, almost never shake hands. Not only that, when asked about the possibility of contacting Rossi for a relationship, Marquez flatly refused. Because, his love for Rossi has now faded.
“No, I don’t want (Rossi’s contact). Year after year it keeps changing, and my love for him is getting less and less. I don’t care,” he said.
According to Marquez, although it is hot and full of tension, his competition with Rossi makes MotoGP more interesting. Now, Rossi has chosen his own path by retiring and becoming the owner of the team, while he will continue to race for the next few seasons.
“Disputes eventually create a hobby. Motorcycle racing fans don’t care what is right and wrong. When there is controversy in the sport, people and the media are definitely more interested. I decided to turn a new page and he too has taken his own path, “said Marquez.
