Peru continues to collect medals at the XII South American Games 2022. Peruvian athletes Alonso Wong (men’s -73kg category) and Marian Flores (women’s -57kg category) climbed to the podium in Asunción after winning gold and silver medals in the judo competition.
In the -73kg category. Alonso Wong was the stellar figure after prevailing with two convincing ippon, in the semifinals against Sergio Mattey from Venezuela and in the final for the gold medal, against the Brazilian Jonas Castro Ribeiro.
On the other hand, Marian Flores kept the silver medal after losing in the final of the -57kg category. against the Brazilian Gabrielle Limeira Gonzaga.
The Peruvian delegation has 46 medals so far (10 gold, 12 silver and 24 bronze) and we are in seventh place in the medal table, reported Team Peru Noticias.
