Guanajuato is crowned at the 2022 National Indigenous Encounter

Editorial Office.- The Guanajuato delegation did so. It achieved the conquest of the national medal table of the National Indigenous Meeting 2022 recently held in the state of Morelos and with the participation of 44 Guanajuato athletes, the entity positioned itself as number one in the top ten of the fair.

From September 26 to 30, this contest was held, organized by the National Commission for Physical Culture and Sports (CONADE) where 600 athletes from 15 states of the country gathered, based for the first time in the state of Morelos.

Guanajuato was recognized as the national champion of the event with a total of 7 medals, of which 5 were gold and 2 bronze. It was followed by the state of Veracruz in the second position and the third was for Chiapas. The three entities were awarded the national podium of this edition that had activity in sports such as volleyball, soccer, athletics and basketball.

From this performance, 5 gold medals were achieved in athletics; Women’s 10km Cross Country, Women’s 10km Road, Men’s 15km Cross Country, Men’s 15km Road, and 4 x 1km Relay mixed.

The 2 bronzes were achieved by the women’s 7-a-side football team from the municipality of San Luis de la Paz and the women’s volleyball team from the municipality of Apaseo el Alto. Athletes from Dolores Hidalgo, Victoria and SMA joined the delegation.

The national event had the participation of CDMX, Michoacan, Oaxaca, Quintana Roo, Sinaloa, Veracruz, Yucatan, Puebla, Morelos, Guanajuato; Chihuahua, Chiapas, Colima, Campeche and Mexico State.
