The project to build four tennis courts and four pickleball courts, or light tennis courts, at Bruno-Pauletto Park in Sept-Îles, will go ahead.
The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MAMH) approved the request for a $1.9 million loan from the City of Sept-Îles for this project.
Bruno-Pauletto Park is located behind Jean-du-Nord high school.
The work will begin before the end of 2022 and will be completed in 2023, explains the director general of the City of Sept-Îles, Patrick Gwilliam.
We will start with the excavation and the backfill to have a good compaction. Next year, we will do the paving, the fences, the lines, things like that
he said.
During the Sept-Îles municipal council meeting on June 27, the City decided that the company Les Locations de l’Anse de Sept-Îles would be the company that would build these eight tennis and pickleball courts.
