Spanish swimming has a plan: emerge towards world and Olympic medals with the ‘Team Spain Elite’ project. And it will have a boss with pedigree to start it up: Ben Titleywho will be presented today at the Higher Sports Council (CSD) as the head coach of the national team.

He joins the team led by Luis Villanueva, sports director, and which includes Sean Kelly as national director of performance, Ricardo Barreda, national director of programs, and Olaf Wildeboer, coach of CAR Sant Cugat, with whom Titley will join. “Working with the internationally renowned CAR team excites me and drives me to create a world-class environment where success is inevitable. With two 50-meter pools (indoor and outdoor), several weight rooms, sports medicine and science support, a running track and a magnificent climate, we have the opportunity to establish a world-class performance environment and a true hotbed in which to train some of the best swimmers in the world”, he said after the announcement of his incorporation.
