Man Utd: Rangnick expected more

Jostled by Atletico Madrid (1-1) this Wednesday in the round of 16 first leg of the Champions League, Manchester United finally got a lucky draw. After the meeting, the Red Devils coach, Ralf Rangnick, still expressed some disappointment.

“We delivered a very poor first half, we were behind after seven minutes, it was very difficult. I’m not happy at all with our first half. We were too predictable, we lacked conviction. It was much better in the second half and we would have even won if the match had lasted ten minutes longer,” claimed the German technician on RMC Sport.

“Football is a sport of ups and downs. We didn’t put our game plan in place, we didn’t manage to impose our style. We played laterally, without depth. But I knew that the fate of this round of 16 would not be decided tonight. (…) We will have to play as in the second half on the return. Everything will be possible, even if it does not look easy. We have every chance with this result,” Rangnick added.
