The January transfer window is approaching midway and for Leeds United things are starting to heat up.

While introducing new additions, there are many players on Elland Road who attract admiring glances from further afield.

One of these is Henri Kumwenda.

According to Football Insider, the eighteen year old is attracting the attention of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City.

The young forward has struggled with injuries, but has impressed recently with his long-term future in Yorkshire very high.

Kumwenda has yet to sign a professional contract with Marcelo Bielsa’s team and, given the interest of the leaders of the Premier League, it may be difficult to keep the star.

Losing another striker isn’t what whites hope for this month.

Leeds are bare-bones in attacking talent following Arsenal’s decision to remember Eddie Nketiah earlier this month.

This left Patrick Bamford as the only senior striker on Bielsa’s team, which means they face some problems if the former Middlesbrough man suffers an injury or suspension in the coming weeks.

The verdict

Losing a player like Henri Kumwenda would be a major blow for Leeds United.

The whites are building a great future and the eighteen year old would definitely adapt to this as they prepare for a potential future in the top flight.

But if one of the big cannons comes to call, it may prove difficult for the young man to refuse.
