Fernando Alonso and Marc Coma suffered a spectacular accident in the first kilometers of the tenth stage of Dakar. The Asturian and the Berguedà have not suffered any major injuries and although the Toyota has been badly affected, they have been able to resume their course.
Alonso entered a dune at high speed and was unable to control the vehicle, which had turned a number of laps. As a result of the accident, The car was damaged and repairs had to be made. The two of them drive with more than an hour lost.
Sthey run in a race without windshields and with the added difficulty that this is the marathon stage of the rally and they will not be able to receive assistance from their mechanics if they manage to reach the finish line.
Coma and Alonso were tenth in the overall classification of the Dakar, 13 minutes from the leader, also Spanish Carlos Sainz.
