The Denver Nuggets signed guard Ryan Nembhard to a two-way deal on Wednesday, adding the former Dallas Mavericks standout to their roster just weeks before the start of the NBA season, according to reports. Nembhard went undrafted last year before earning a standard contract with Dallas after a strong run that saw him appear in 60 games with 27 starts.
Denver Secures Ryan Nembhard on a Two-Way Contract
During his stint with the Mavericks, Nembhard averaged 6.6 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 5.3 assists in 19.5 minutes per contest. Dallas subsequently traded him to the Atlanta Hawks in a deal involving Zaccharie Risacher. The Hawks then moved him to the Charlotte Hornets, who waived the guard because their point guard rotation was already crowded with Dennis Schröder and Christian Anderson.
While multiple teams expressed interest, the Nuggets emerged as the frontrunner. Denver got an up-close look at the 23-year-old in December 2025, when he posted 28 points and 10 assists against them.

D’Angelo Russell Signs With the Shanghai Sharks in China
Former No. 2 overall pick D’Angelo Russell has signed with the Shanghai Sharks, shifting his career overseas roughly a week after his expected release by the Memphis Grizzlies. The 30-year-old guard agreed to a deal on Wednesday, marking his first extended professional stint outside the United States.
Russell’s move drew support from former NBA player Dwight Howard, who wrote on social media, “I don’t know why people think that it would be bad to play abroad. It actually is more fun than in the NBA!” Russell last played in the NBA on January 11 during a brief stop with the Mavericks. Dallas acquired him before the season but traded him to the Washington Wizards after 26 appearances as part of the Anthony-Davis deal. Washington did not play him before trading him to Memphis this summer.
New York Knicks Reshuffle the Roster Before Training Camp
The New York Knicks released N’Faly Dante and John Konchar on Wednesday in a flurry of late-summer roster adjustments. Konchar’s departure caught observers off guard, as the 30-year-old had drawn heavy interest as a free agent following his release from the Minnesota Timberwolves, with the Miami Heat, Orlando Magic, and Toronto Raptors also pursuing him.
According to SNY reporter Ian Begley, Konchar had spent the preceding days away from the team for personal reasons, prompting the two sides to agree to a temporary parting so he could address the matter. To fill out their preseason roster, the Knicks added big man Tony Bradley—who has played for the Utah Jazz, Philadelphia 76ers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers, and Atlanta Hawks—along with undrafted guard Jaden Atkins, who played in the G League for the Motor City Cruise.
