Inclusive Sports Event “Im-Para Lo Sport” Returns to Calci for its Third Edition

The town of Calci is set to host the third edition of the “IM-PARA LO SPORT” festival on Saturday, October 10, bringing together paralympic and traditional sporting disciplines to emphasize inclusion and accessibility for athletes of all abilities. Scheduled from 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. local time at the Parco della Fonderia, the afternoon event features an opening panel discussion followed by free, hands-on sports laboratories designed to remove physical and social barriers.

Opening Roundtable on Accessibility

The program begins at 2:00 p.m. with a public roundtable discussion involving representatives from the participating organizations. Organizers structured this session to foster dialogue on inclusive sport practices, physical and structural accessibility, and the ongoing work required to dismantle barriers that limit participation in athletics.

Hands-On Sports Laboratories at Parco della Fonderia

Starting at 3:30 p.m., the venue transforms into an open-air gymnasium where attendees can directly experience multiple sports disciplines. The schedule includes paralympic boccia organized alongside Uildm Pisa, equestrian activities hosted by the Centro Ippico La Cartuja di Calci, judo led by Judo Champion Pisa, baskin with Warriors Baskin Lucca, and tandem cycling through the In-Tandem project. Rather than watching passive demonstrations, participants engage directly with the equipment and instructors.

Community Partners and Social Activities

Throughout the afternoon, the Universa and Cambio di Passo associations will manage informational booths on-site. Organizers also arranged a donation-based afternoon snack to encourage socialization among athletes, families, and community members. The initiative is promoted by the Universa-Comunità Consapevoli association alongside local partners and receives financial backing from the Municipality of Calci. Admission to the festival and participation in all scheduled activities are completely free of charge.
