Maratón Internacional Ciudad de Logroño 2026 set for October 4

The 12th edition of the Maratón Internacional Ciudad de Logroño is scheduled for Sunday, October 4, 2026, bringing thousands of runners to the capital of Spain’s La Rioja region for a fast urban course certified by the Real Federación Española de Atletismo (RFEA).

Event Schedule and Distances for Logroño 2026

Organized by the Club Ferrer Sport in collaboration with the Government of La Rioja and Logroño Deporte, the event features three RFEA-homologated distances: the full marathon (42.195 kilometers), the half marathon (21.097 kilometers), and a 10K race. All three events kick off simultaneously at 09:00 local time (CET/UTC+1) on October 4, 2026.

The full marathon and half marathon start on Calle Muro de la Mata, directly beside El Espolón park, which also serves as the finish line for both events. Runners tackling the half marathon complete a single lap of the certified circuit within a maximum time limit of two and a half hours. Marathon participants complete two laps of the same course, with a five-hour cutoff limit. Meanwhile, the 10K race begins at a separate starting point on Avenida de Lobete—at the roundabout with Calle Obispo Fidel García—and finishes at the Muro de la Mata location after a half-lap route that carries a time limit of one hour and thirty minutes.

Bib Collection and Registration Details

Participants can pick up their racing bibs ahead of race day at the Ferrer Sport Center, located at Calle 7 Infantes de Lara 19. According to official scheduling, bib distribution runs on Friday, October 2, from 10:00 to 14:00 at the store and from 16:00 to 21:00 at the onsite Runner’s Fair. The Runner’s Fair continues on Saturday, October 3, from 10:00 to 21:00 at the same location.

For last-minute retrievals on Sunday, October 4, race-day pickup is available from 07:00 to 08:00 at the Concha del Espolón for registered half marathon and full marathon runners. Competitors in the 10K can collect their bibs at a designated station right at their starting point on Avenida de Lobete.

Course Marking and Historical Growth

The RFEA-official course features clear vertical and horizontal kilometre markers along every single kilometre of the route, designed to help runners pace their efforts. Because the marathons utilize a two-lap layout, athletes face familiar turns and crowd zones during their second pass, offering a psychological advantage in the closing miles.

The 2026 event looks to build on a successful prior edition that drew more than 2,500 runners from across Spain and generated over 35 million views across social media platforms. Organizers anticipate crossing the 3,000-participant threshold for this upcoming race day while preserving the festive atmosphere that draws families and spectators into the city streets.
