Vietnam Asian Games Schedule October 1: Key Events, Archery, and Esports Semifinals

Vietnamese athletes competing at the Asian Games face a packed schedule across multiple disciplines, highlighted by Dang Cong Duc reaching the men’s recurve archery quarterfinals and the national League of Legends team advancing to the semifinals.

Archery and Shooting Contests

Dang Cong Duc secured his place in the men’s individual recurve archery quarterfinals, where he faced South Korea. Should he advance through that bracket, the Vietnamese archer moves directly into the afternoon’s semifinal and medal rounds.

In shooting events, Pham Quang Huy, Ha Minh Thanh, and Vu Tien Nam enter the qualification rounds for the men’s 25m rapid-fire pistol competition. The final for that event is scheduled for the afternoon.

Team Sports and Group Matches

The Vietnam men’s sepak takraw team meets India in preliminary action, while the women’s squad squares off against the Philippines. In indoor volleyball, the Vietnamese men’s team takes on Uzbekistan in the 9th-to-16th place classification bracket.

Golf, Combat Sports, and Esports

The golf tournament moves into its second round. Le Nguyen Minh Anh and Nguyen Khanh Linh represent Vietnam in the women’s event, while Nguyen Anh Minh, Le Khanh Hung, and Nguyen Tuan Anh compete in the men’s field.

Combat sports feature high-stakes qualification sessions. Jiu-jitsu competitors Can Van Thang, Dang Dinh Tung, Le Trong Hoang, Vuong Tran Hoai Thuong, and Phung Thi Hue step onto the mat across various weight classes. In taekwondo, Chau Ngoc Tuyet Sang and Nguyen Xuan Thanh contest the individual poomsae qualifications. Greco-roman wrestlers Nguyen Dinh Huy and Nguyen Cong Manh advance to the finals in the 60kg and 77kg categories.

On the digital front, Vietnam’s League of Legends roster takes on Chinese Taipei in the tournament semifinals.
