The investigation, led by Valencia’s Homicide Squad, centers on a coordinated attack that unfolded in the early hours of August 15. Police reports indicate that the victim was walking with his brother and two friends when they encountered a group of youths wearing hoods and dark clothing, armed with bats and shouting threats. The victim and his companions fled on foot, triggering a pursuit through the surrounding streets.

During the chase, the victim’s brother managed to evade the attackers by hiding behind waste containers. From his hiding spot, he reported hearing several gunshots that investigators later determined struck the victim. The assailants eventually caught the 20-year-old, repeatedly stabbing him in the back and striking his head with a baseball bat before leaving him bleeding on the pavement.

Weapons Recovery and Suspect Identification Lead to Rapid Arrests

Patrol units from both the National Police and Local Police responded promptly to the scene, administering first aid and securing the area until emergency medical services arrived to transport the victim to the hospital. Following detailed inquiries in the days after the assault, investigating officers recovered the magazine of the pellet gun used in the attack. That physical evidence proved critical in identifying the members of the gang.

Authorities took nine suspects into custody within days of the incident. The detainees face serious charges, including attempted murder, grievous bodily harm, and uttering threats. Two of the suspects have since appeared before an investigating judge, who ordered one remanded in custody while the others were released pending future court summons.
