The 30th edition of the Concurs de Castells opens this weekend at the Tarraco Arena Plaça in Tarragona, Spain, bringing together top-tier human tower building teams for a weekend of competition. Broadcaster La Xarxa and local public television station TAC12 are producing comprehensive live coverage of both days of the event for local television stations and their digital platforms.

More than 80 broadcasting professionals are managing the technical and editorial deployment for the two-day tournament. La Xarxa has deployed an HD mobile unit alongside 16 cameras positioned around the arena floor. The setup includes a skycam rigged for overhead, zenital views of the entire plaza and a drone dedicated to aerial shots of the human towers.
Beyond local television broadcasts, La Xarxa and TAC12 are producing the official international signal for the competition, supplying feeds directly to the tournament organizers. The broadcast team also manages the technical video feed piped into the competition’s VAR room, where judges review formations and structural integrity.

A notable addition to this year’s roster is the return of the Castellers de Castelldefels, who are competing at the Concurs for the first time since 1994.

Toni Comas hosts the television special for La Xarxa and TAC12. Commentary and play-by-play coverage are handled by narrator Carles Cortés, joined by analysts Aina Mallol, Marta de Sangenís, and Iruna Rigau.
