The Pavelló Municipal d’Esports in Olot will host the 2026 Spanish Roller Hockey Supercup from Friday, October 23, to Sunday, October 25, serving as the opening official competition of the domestic season just prior to the league campaign.
City officials and sports executives formally presented the upcoming tournament at Olot Town Hall. The presentation gathered municipal leaders and federation representatives to outline the three-day schedule, which features top-tier men’s and women’s clubs competing for the first silverware of the autumn.
Tournament Schedule and Format in Olot
Competition will span three consecutive days at the municipal venue in the capital of the Garrotxa comarca. Action begins on Friday, October 23, with the women’s semifinals. Saturday, October 24, shifts to the men’s semifinal fixtures, while Sunday, October 25, features both championship finals. Exact kickoff times remain pending official confirmation.
Local club Club Hoquei Olot is providing operational support for the tournament. The Albert Bosch Foundation will also participate through various actions scheduled throughout the weekend.
Men’s Semifinal Matchups
The men’s tournament opens with a high-profile clash between HC Liceo, the reigning Copa del Rey champions, and FC Barcelona, the defending Supercup holders. The fixture renews one of the traditional rivalries in domestic and international rink hockey.
The second men’s semifinal pairs Igualada Rigat HC, which holds the current OK Liga title, against Calafell La Menorquina. Both matches will test early-season form ahead of the broader league calendar.
Women’s Semifinal Encounters
The women’s bracket showcases elite global competition. CP Vila-sana Coop. d’Ivars faces Generali HC Palau in the opening semifinal.
In the second pairing, defending champions CP Esneca Fraga meet Telecable HC. Xavier Moyano, general manager of the Spanish Skating Federation (RFEP), described the women’s bracket as featuring four of the strongest sides globally, highlighting the concentration of world, European, and domestic club champions in the tournament.
Olot’s Growing Role in Rink Hockey
Assigning the event to Olot shows the RFEP's confidence in the city's organizational track record for major roller hockey tournaments. The Catalan municipality previously hosted the Men’s Spanish Supercup in 2022, the Women’s Senior European Championship in 2023, and both the under-17 men’s and women’s European championships in 2024.
Aniol Sellabona, Olot’s sports councilor, emphasized the municipal administration’s dual focus on education, health, and urban promotion through elite sport. He noted that infrastructure upgrades implemented for high-level events are intentionally designed to remain in place for local clubs to use long-term.
Moyano echoed those sentiments during the town hall presentation, pointing to the established partnership between the federation and municipal leaders as a key factor in returning major competitions to the city.
