Tour de France Femmes champion Kasia Niewiadoma has signed a two-year contract with Lidl-Trek, departing Canyon-SRAM after a nine-year tenure. The announcement by the German-registered WorldTour squad follows a high-profile week for the Polish climber, who secured a silver medal at the UCI Road World Championships in Montreal on Sunday and celebrated her 32nd birthday season.
A nine-year chapter closes at Canyon-SRAM
Niewiadoma spent the last nine seasons with Canyon-SRAM, establishing herself as one of the peloton’s most consistent and aggressive stage racers and one-day specialists. During her long stint with the team, she captured major victories including La Flèche Wallonne and the Amstel Gold Race, culminating in her career-defining triumph at the 2024 Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift. In that race, she held off pre-race favorite Demi Vollering by a razor-thin margin of four seconds after eight demanding stages.
Continuing success on the Grand Boucle
The Polish climber’s consistency on the roads of the Tour de France extends across multiple seasons. Beyond her yellow jersey victory in 2024—where she also claimed a memorable mountain stage win on Mont Ventoux—Niewiadoma finished third in the general classification in 2022, 2023, and again in 2025, while also securing another runner-up finish behind Vollering in the overall standings during her career.

Reflecting on her departure from Canyon-SRAM, Niewiadoma noted that the choice to switch programs required careful consideration. “The decision to change environment wasn’t easy until I spoke with Lidl-Trek where I felt right away that the team had a plan for me and confidence in my capabilities,” she said in the official team announcement.
