Raffi Ahmad and RANS Entertainment have purchased the broadcasting rights for the ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup 2026/2027, committing tens of billions of rupiah to broadcast matches featuring Persib Bandung and Borneo FC for free across Indonesia.
RANS Entertainment Secures High-Cost Tournament Rights
Indonesian media figure and entrepreneur Raffi Ahmad announced that RANS Entertainment acquired the official broadcast license for the upcoming ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup 2026/2027. Speaking in Wijaya, South Jakarta, on Monday, September 28, 2026, Ahmad explained that the acquisition carried a multi-billion rupiah price tag—specifically noting that the cost runs into two digits in billions of rupiah—to ensure fans across the country can watch every fixture at no charge.
“This is a real purchase so that it can be watched for free by the entire community of Indonesia,” Ahmad stated during the announcement. “If you ask about the price, the billions are not just a single digit; it is two digits.”

Supporting Indonesian Clubs on the Regional Stage
The broadcast partnership focuses directly on two Indonesian sides competing in the regional tournament: Persib Bandung and Borneo FC. Ahmad emphasized that the investment represents a unified national effort rather than regional backing, urging supporters to view the clubs as national representatives in Southeast Asia.
“Do not look at Persib as coming from West Java, do not look at Borneo from Kalimantan, but this is a representative of Indonesia in the ASEAN arena,” Ahmad said, framing the initiative under the banner of national pride.
Ahmad holds a personal connection to Persib due to his birth in Bandung, while also noting a close friendship with the ownership group of Borneo FC. Beyond national support, Ahmad highlighted the value of full-match broadcasts in exposing local fans and players to external tactics, noting that observing foreign clubs provides essential high-level experience for Indonesian football development.
Broadcasting Partnership With MNC Group
To execute the free-to-air and digital rollout, RANS Entertainment partnered with MNC Group. The matches will air across television networks and digital streams, including the official RANS Entertainment YouTube channel.
Angela Tanoesoedibjo, Co-CEO of MNC Group, detailed the strategic value of the collaboration, pointing to RANS Entertainment’s strong digital penetration and youth engagement as a complement to traditional terrestrial broadcasting. “RANS has a strong connection with the younger generation, high digital penetration, and extraordinary community engagement,” Tanoesoedibjo said, adding that the partnership aims to maximize distribution reach so supporters nationwide can follow both clubs.
