Handling Difficult Weather Conditions in Rosario

“We reached the final, thank God,” Salinas said after sealing the qualification. “We were able to work through it, there was a lot of wind, it was complicated, but we managed to keep a cool head so the team could make it.”

The archery events span both individual and team disciplines. Salinas acknowledged the emotional weight of reaching the final stage after a rigorous tournament path.

“The truth is we are very happy and emotional because it was a difficult road, but thank God we are already in the final,” Salinas added.

A 17-Year Journey to the National Team

Salinas brings 17 years of experience in the sport to the international stage, conducting much of his training in Oro Verde. Earning a spot on the Argentina roster required a strict selection process against top domestic competitors.

Before traveling to Rosario, Salinas explained that he first had to rank among the top six archers nationwide before securing one of three spots on the national squad for the South American Games.

Ahead of the tournament, Salinas emphasized the psychological demands of competitive shooting. “You work a lot on the mental part,” Salinas noted. “You have to concentrate, work hard on your pulse, focus, and enjoy it.” That mental conditioning proved vital during outdoor rounds heavily influenced by wind.

Chasing a Medal in the Team Finals

With qualification officially secured, Salinas and his teammates turn their focus toward Wednesday afternoon’s round. The squad aims to cap off their tournament run with a medal.

“Obviously we are going to give everything for our country,” Salinas concluded. “We are very happy and we’ll see how all of this continues.”
