Mahmutovic arrived in Munich during the summer of 2024 after developing her game in Duisburg, where she was born and trained as a footballer. “A stable, first-class number one as a basis always plays a central role,” said Bianca Rech, the club’s director of women’s football. Rech noted that retaining Mahmutovic serves as “a valuable signal for the further development of our team” and expressed the club’s absolute conviction that the young goalkeeper has a massive future ahead at FC Bayern.
For her part, Mahmutovic emphasized collective ambition following the announcement of her new deal through 2029. “In the future, we still have a lot planned together,” Mahmutovic said. “My big goal is to win a trophy internationally with Bayern and also to win even more titles together at the national level.”
