First released in 2013, the sneaker features a glossy electro purple Foamposite shell contrasted by a traditional black eyestay, mesh tongue, and heel construction. Total orange accents complete the aesthetic through embroidered branding, striped tongue webbing, and rear pull tabs. While the color scheme directly echoes the team identity of the NBA’s Phoenix Suns, the release was never an official licensed collaboration with the franchise.
The aesthetic origin connects directly to guard Penny Hardaway and his stint playing in Phoenix from 1999 to 2004. Years earlier, the Air Foamposite One served as Hardaway’s signature model during his tenure with the Orlando Magic, famously debuting in the original royal blue makeup. Although Hardaway never wore Foamposites on-court during his time with the Suns, the 2013 silhouette imagined what a player-edition colorway might have looked like.
