Mexico secured two medals at the Archery World Cup Final in Saltillo, highlighted by a silver medal from Dafne Quintero and a bronze from Rodrigo González, according to official tournament reports.
The elite season-ending tournament brought together 32 of the top archery competitors from around the world to compete in individual recurve and compound events across both men’s and women’s divisions. Qualification for the event required athletes to finish among the top eight global competitors in their respective disciplines based on ranking points accumulated across four regular-season stages held in Puebla, Mexico; Shanghai, China; Antalya, Turkey; and Madrid, Spain.
Mexico’s Historic Roster and Local Roots in Coahuila
The Mexican national team fielded its largest contingent ever for a World Cup Final, entering seven athletes into the competition, as reported by Olympics.com. The roster featured Olympic medalists Alejandra Valencia and Ana Paula Vázquez, triple world champion Maya Becerra, world champion Dafne Quintero, world medalist Sebastián García, Pan American silver medalist Matías Grande, and Central American and Caribbean Games silver medalist Rodrigo González.

Four members of the Tricolor squad hail directly from the host state of Coahuila: Grande, Vázquez, Quintero, and García. Speaking about the heavy local representation on the national stage, Sebastián García noted that the milestone was the result of long-term planning.
“Es muy importante que seamos tantos atletas del mismo estado, pero creo que no es casualidad,” García told Olympics.com, adding that a development program initiated over a decade ago enabled continuous growth from youth categories through national competitions to the senior international level.”
Two Decades of World Archery Finals in Mexico
World Archery established the World Cup series in 2006, and Mexico has frequently served as a host for the prestigious season finale over the past two decades. The country hosted the inaugural World Cup Final in Mérida in 2006. Subsequent editions took place in Mexico City in 2015, Hermosillo in 2023, and Tlaxcala in 2022 and 2024, before Saltillo welcomed the world’s best archers for the 2026 showcase.
With the Saltillo event concluded, athletes and national federations turn their attention to the upcoming international calendar and qualification cycles for future World Archery events.
