FC Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany has addressed the future of defender Sacha Boey following the close of the summer transfer window, confirming that the right-back will be fully integrated into the squad after a potential move fell through.

Despite drawing interest from potential suitors, a permanent or temporary transfer did not materialize before the deadline, leaving the 25-year-old French defender under contract with the German record champions.
Speaking ahead of a Bundesliga fixture against SV Elversberg, Kompany provided clarity on the player’s status now that the market is shut. „Jetzt ist die Transferphase vorbei und Sacha bekommt die Unterstützung von uns“, Kompany stated, indicating that the coaching staff will back the defender as he restarts his campaign in Munich.”

Kompany pointed out that the club boasts considerable depth on the defensive flanks, specifically highlighting Josip Stanišić and Konrad Laimer as established options for the right-back position. However, Eberl noted that a long-term future in Munich remains uncertain despite the sudden shift in squad planning.

Bayern Munich initially acquired Boey in winter 2024 from Turkish side Galatasaray for a reported fee of approximately 30 million euros.
