Cercle Brugge has officially secured the transfer of South African international Luke Le Roux on a two-year contract, bringing the 26-year-old midfielder to the Jan Breydel Stadium on a free transfer. Le Roux arrives in Belgium just days after parting ways with English Championship side Portsmouth FC by mutual consent on September 3, where he made 17 appearances over a single season. Prior to his spell in England, the midfielder played with IFK Värnamo in Sweden, Varbergs BoIS, and FC Volendam in the Netherlands.

Cercle’s new recruit has earned nine caps for the South Africa national team, though Hugo Broos did not take him to the last World Cup.
