David Douděra has officially closed his chapter with SK Slavia Prague, confirming a permanent transfer to Major League Soccer side FC Cincinnati. The Czech Republic international was removed from the Slavia first-team squad following a high-profile derby against AC Sparta Prague late last season. He published an emotional farewell message on social media announcing that he will continue his career in North America alongside fellow countryman Pavel Bucha.

The versatile wing-back admitted that his fiery on-field temperament occasionally led to difficult situations throughout his career in Eden, culminating in disciplinary measures enacted by club management.

As a gesture of goodwill upon his departure, Douděra announced a donation of 100,000 Czech korunas to Slavia’s foundation fund. He acknowledged that until recently, he mistakenly believed that the only battles that truly mattered took place exclusively on the football pitch—an outlook he now identifies as his biggest personal miscalculation during his two years under scrutiny.
Crossing the Atlantic to Major League Soccer
Douděra now crosses the Atlantic to join an FC Cincinnati squad competing in the Eastern Conference of MLS. In Ohio, he joins compatriot Pavel Bucha, providing immediate Czech representation within the American roster.
The move marks a fresh start for the defender outside of the Czech Chance Liga environment. Slavia supporters and coaching staff now turn their full attention toward domestic league commitments and European competition fixtures, while Douděra prepares for the travel and logistical demands of regular-season play in North America.
