Saltillo is set to host the world’s archery talents when the city stages the Archery World Cup Final from September 10 to 13, 2026, according to municipal and state announcements. The international competition will bring together the top 32 archers from the global circuit who secured their qualification by accumulating points across various World Cup stages held throughout the year.

Elite Field Shapes Up for Coahuila Capital

Mayor Javier Díaz González confirmed that the tournament features both compound and recurve disciplines, with fields consisting of eight women and eight men in each category. Local fans will have a direct stake in the action as local Coahuila archers Matías Grande and Ana Paula Vázquez prepare to compete against international elite competitors for titles in their respective divisions.

Historic Downtown Streets Transform Into Ranges

Competition events will center primarily on the Plaza de Armas and Callejón Santos Rojo, historic venues situated in the heart of the Coahuila capital’s downtown district. Organizers plan to install spectator seating with a capacity for more than 1,500 people. Díaz González noted that the urban layout allows spectators to watch the matches surrounded by architectural landmarks such as the Government Palace and the Cathedral of Santiago.

Institutional Backing and Global Reach

The event is a collaborative effort organized by the Government of Coahuila, the Municipality of Saltillo, the National Commission for Physical Culture and Sport (Conade), and World Archery Mexico. Beyond the athletic competition, officials project significant tourism benefits, pointing to international broadcasts reaching more than 70 countries. The mayor added that visiting athletes accompanied by coaches, families, and multidisciplinary support teams will drive activity in the local hospitality and service sectors.
