Auria Badminton Club Competes in Granollers and La Gomera Tournaments

The Auria Bádminton Club is splitting its competitive squad across two distinct regional tournaments this weekend, dispatching players to both Catalonia and La Gomera for national ranking events. According to the sources, the weekend schedule highlights the club’s active presence in regional and national circuits during the summer season, sending athletes to test themselves against high-level competition away from their home base.

Catalonia Master Territorial and Top TTR Granollers

A broad delegation from the Auria Bádminton Club has traveled to Catalonia to compete in both the Catalunya Máster Territorial Granollers—an N5 level tournament—and the Catalunya TOP TTR Granollers, a level N7 event. According to the sources, the matches take place at the Pabellón Municipal del Congost in Granollers, running through Saturday and Sunday morning.

The traveling party arriving in Barcelona on a Friday afternoon flight includes Isaac Rincón, Vera García, Álvaro Guadalupe, Aitami Fernández, Nerea Padrón, Lucía Rincón, Zhi Tao Li, Alicia Martínez, Zeneida Ortiz, and Samuel Tarife. Notably, Zhi Tao Li, Alicia Martínez, and Samuel Tarife are pulling double duty over the weekend by stepping onto the court as players while also fulfilling coaching responsibilities for the club.

Nerea Padrón secured entry into the higher-tier N5 Máster competition based on her current national ranking, making her the sole Auria Bádminton Club representative in that bracket. She competes in the women’s under-15 singles group against Isabel La Pascual, Marta Larrión, and Martina Palacios, while pairing up with Bruno Lionel Peralta of CD Tiguaneje for the under-15 mixed doubles.

In the concurrent N7 Top TTR tournament at Granollers, Isaac Rincón enters as the top seed in the under-11 category. Vera García, Álvaro Guadalupe, and Aitami Fernández feature in the under-13 division, and Lucía Rincón contests the under-17 bracket. In the senior categories, Zhi Tao Li and Samuel Tarife play both singles and doubles. Doubles pairings feature Isaac Rincón and Aitami Fernández in under-13 boys’ doubles, Vera García and Álvaro Guadalupe in under-13 mixed doubles, Zhi Tao Li with Alicia Martínez, and Zeneida Ortiz with Samuel Tarife in senior mixed doubles, alongside an all-Auria women’s doubles pairing of Martínez and Ortiz.

Historic Debut at the Top TTR San Sebastián de La Gomera

While one contingent competes near Barcelona, another group of Auria Bádminton Club players is making history in the Canary Islands. According to the sources, the club has sent six players to participate in the inaugural TOP TTR San Sebastián de La Gomera, marking the first time the island has hosted a badminton tournament that counts toward the national ranking.

Logistics and Return Plans

The Catalonia-bound group departed on Friday afternoon on a 17:00 flight to Barcelona before completing the journey to Granollers by car. According to the sources, return flights are split between Sunday morning and Sunday night. Meanwhile, the La Gomera squad arrived on Friday, balancing their arrival with a brief exploratory tour of the island before turning their focus to the Pabellón Audillón courts.
