The strategic expansion was unveiled during the launch ceremony of the 2026 Qingdao Basketball Season, an event that featured two major专项篮球 (basketball-specific) developments. Through this dual approach, the club has taken on responsibilities for provincial echelon building while simultaneously deepening ties with municipal sports administrators to enhance local training pathways.
Shandong U18 Men’s Team Formation
As part of the provincial deployment, the Shandong Provincial Basketball Sports Management Center and Qingdao Guoxin Haitian Basketball Club have jointly established the new Shandong U18 men’s basketball team. During the ceremony, Shi Wei, Deputy Secretary of the provincial basketball center, formally presented the team flag to newly appointed head coach Xu Jiahan, marking the official commencement of the squad’s systematic preparation for upcoming competitions.
The team is built primarily around the Guoxin Haitian club’s core roster. According to regional coverage, this formation serves as a key preparation phase for the upcoming third edition of the National Youth Youth Games, which stands as a premier national platform for evaluating regional youth training programs and selecting elite athletic talent.
