Represented by 10 competitors who faced athletes from 28 states, the Coahuila squad finished second in the overall medal standings behind Querétaro.
The tournament brought together 186 archers from across the country for one of the primary domestic competitions on the calendar. Querétaro claimed the top spot in the medal table by earning one more gold medal than Coahuila, while the Coahuila delegation finished its campaign with three gold medals, three silvers, and two bronzes.
Gold Medal Performances Lead Coahuila’s Campaign
Coahuila’s three gold medals came across compound and youth divisions, highlighted by national-level victories in team and individual events. Sebastián García and Dafne Quintero teamed up to capture the mixed compound team title, according to event results. In the individual categories, Víctor Bretado took gold in the under-21 compound division, while Yaretzi Salas secured the top step of the podium in the under-18 compound competition.
The state’s silver medal haul featured strong performances across recurve and compound disciplines. Juan Pablo Téllez finished second in individual recurve, while Yaretzi Salas and Antonio Epifanía combined to take silver in the under-18 mixed compound team event. Melchor Flores added a silver medal in the under-21 individual compound category.
Rounding Out the Podium Finishes
Coahuila completed its eight-medal tally with a pair of bronze finishes. Antonio Epifanía earned a podium spot in the under-18 individual compound event, and Sebastián García added an individual bronze in the compound competition to cap off a busy tournament for the delegation.
With the World Archery México Championship concluded, archers return to their respective training programs to prepare for upcoming national and international ranking events on the federation calendar.
