El Club Arco Trasno de Tomiño made a strong impression at the 9th Tirada de la Comarca de la Sidra in Colunga, Asturias, securing three podium finishes alongside strong performances from three debutants, according to Val Miñor TV. Five athletes traveled from Tomiño to compete in the demanding 3D archery event, which ran across three separate course sessions over the weekend.

The competition, organized by Club Arco Los Valles, stands out in the 3D archery calendar due to its technical layout. According to Val Miñor TV, the event challenges archers through three distinct courses—one on Saturday morning, another Saturday afternoon, and a final session on Sunday morning. Competitors shoot at volumetric animal figures positioned in forest environments at unknown distances ranging from roughly 5 to 30 meters.
That setup demands precise distance estimation, rigorous terrain analysis, and careful footing. Organizers Emilio, Pili, and María designed a course featuring technical targets and challenging placements. Beyond the scores, participants enjoyed traditional hospitality from Club Arco Los Valles, including a pincheada on Saturday night featuring targets like a gorilla placed 180 meters away and a traditional metal dog target, followed by a Sunday farewell lunch.
Podium Finishes for Figueroa and Ruscher
In the women’s barebow division (Arco Desnudo Mujer), Carmen Figueroa posted a score of 918 points to capture first place in her category, as reported by Val Miñor TV. In the men’s barebow class (Arco Desnudo Hombre), Bernd Ruscher led the field by totaling 995 points to secure the top spot for the club.
Anita Ribeiro added a third podium finish for the delegation. Competing in only her second 3D event, Ribeiro finished third with 626 points, building on her ongoing progression in the discipline, according to Val Miñor TV.
Strong Debuts for Club Arco Trasno
Three athletes made their 3D competition debuts during the weekend. Puri Sánchez Calvar completed the three grueling courses with 441 points, marking her initial step into official 3D tournaments. Santiago Iglesias Feito also tackled his first 3D event, finishing the course layout with 660 points, per Val Miñor TV.
Club representatives emphasized that introducing new archers to competitive environments and fostering team camaraderie remains a core priority alongside collecting medals.
