Raleigh went yard in the first inning against Zack Wheeler, homered again off Wheeler in the fifth, and connected once more in the seventh inning against reliever Chase Shugart. The offensive display opened the floodgates toward a 9-2 victory as Seattle gained ground in the American League playoff race.
The performance marked just the second time in Mariners history that a catcher posted a three-homer game.

To reach October, the Mariners need some semblance of a high-powered Raleigh. Last year’s runner-up for American League MVP has looked anything but that in 2026. Raleigh had cleared the fence just 14 times before stepping into the batter’s box on Monday night and had not logged a multi-homer game all season, a slump correlated with the sport’s largest dropoff in slugging percentage, which fell from .589 to .304 entering Monday.
The totality of Monday night will go down as one of the most memorable in franchise history during a season that has felt as maddening as it has been mediocre by club expectations.
Climbing the Franchise Leaderboards
With his three home runs, Raleigh became just the 13th player in franchise history to record a three-homer game. He also tied Jay Buhner and Edgar Martinez for the second-most multi-homer games in club history with 22, trailing only Ken Griffey Jr., who accumulated 40 multi-homer games for Seattle.
