The delegation from Querétaro captured seven total medals—consisting of three golds, two silver medals, and two bronze medals—following the conclusion of Saturday’s youth division finals in the compound and recurve disciplines across the Sub-18 and Sub-21 categories, records show.
Querétaro Archers Claim Multiple Titles in Recurvo and Compuesto Divisions
The host city venue staged intense head-to-head matches that highlighted youth talent from across Mexico. In the recurvo Sub-18 women’s division, Ángeles Cerino of Querétaro secured the gold medal by defeating Tlaxcala’s Dafne Alexia Cuapio Mendoza 6-2, while teammate Ximena Sarahí Ortiz Lizárraga of Sinaloa took home the bronze, according to tournament results. In the men’s bracket of the same division, Ulises Contreras added another gold for Querétaro with a 6-2 victory over Chihuahua’s José Felipe Cerecedo Pérez, while Nuevo León’s Diego Alberto Martínez Moreno claimed third place.

Querétaro continued its strong showing in the Sub-21 categories. In the recurvo Sub-21 men’s final, Leonardo Pacheco Nava edged out the Estado de México’s Neil Oliver Méndez 6-5 in a closely contested match to take the gold, with compatriot Santiago López Flores rounding out the podium in third place. Meanwhile, in the women’s recurvo Sub-21 final, Ciudad de México’s Isis Yaretzi Gutiérrez Muñoz defeated Querétaro’s Sayuri Celeste Celis Soto 7-1, with Anayetzi Escobedo González of the Estado de México claiming the bronze.

Beyond Querétaro’s surge, athletes from several other entities established their presence during Saturday’s matches at Estadio Fray Nano. In the compound Sub-18 women’s event, Yaretzi Casandra Salas Ledezma representing Coahuila claimed the gold medal after overcoming San Luis Potosí’s Larissa Gimmler, with Tlaxcala’s Vanessa Angélica Lozano Rojas earning the bronze.

Aguascalientes celebrated a gold medal in the men’s compound Sub-18 bracket as Nicolás Martínez Flores defeated Jorge Alonso Aparicio Aguilera of the Estado de México 146-142, while Coahuila’s Antonio Epifania secured the bronze. In the compound Sub-21 women’s division, Erika Gabriela Baeza Fonseca of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) captured the title by defeating Sinaloa’s Aileen Margarita Medina López 140-132, with Nuevo León’s Karla Estrada finishing with the bronze.
Coahuila also dominated an all-state final in the compound Sub-21 men’s category, where Víctor Bretado defeated teammate Melchor Flores 144-138 to claim the gold medal. Axel Pimentel Ruvalcaba of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) took the third position.
