José Luis Gómez, widely known as Chelu, has assumed the presidency of Cocodrilas following a 15-year association with the organization, according to recent club announcements. Bringing extensive background across both sporting and administrative levels of the entity, the new president aims to drive a structural evolution across all areas of the verdinegro club to establish sustainable conditions for growth.

Having worked through nearly every department within the organization, Gómez steps into the role with deep institutional knowledge.
The New Executive Board and Technical Staff
To execute this institutional strategy, Gómez has assembled a management team to oversee daily operations. According to club reports, Melba Sánchez takes on the role of vice president, while Arturo Zarallo serves as secretary and Cristina González acts as treasurer. Elena Vallejo joins as a board member (vocal), and Juan Carlos Ríos assumes the position of general manager (gerente).
On the sporting side, Jesús Romero, known as “Suso,” serves as both sporting director and head coach of the senior squad. Romero is supported on the coaching staff by Álvaro “Pitu” Doctor and Michel “Koi” Hogg. Meanwhile, the regional team’s technical staff features Luis Bravo alongside Hugo Pérez, known as “Tubo.”
Preseason Schedule and Roster Updates
The squad returned to training sessions, preparing for an upcoming preseason friendly scheduled for Sunday, August 27, against División de Honor B side CR Atlético Portuense away at the opponent’s home ground. The club also confirmed the return of several key players to the verdinegro setup, including Irene Romero (“Perdi”) and Marta Chacartegui (“Golfi”).
Following the exclusion of Barcelona from the Liga Iberdrola, that opening match slot will be decided via a playoff between Madrid’s Cisneros and Barcelona’s BUC before the conclusion of August. Off the pitch, the club renewed its sponsorship agreement with Simón Verde Sports and indicated that a new primary sponsor announcement will follow shortly.
