Fenerbahçe Tarfin men’s basketball team officially tipped off preparations for the new campaign with their first training session of the season, welcoming a high-stakes competitive calendar ahead across both domestic and continental fronts.

Speaking to Fenerbahçe Television following the opening session, Board Member Responsible for Basketball Ömer Onan outlined expectations for the upcoming months. According to Ömer Onan, the club enters the new basketball calendar with high ambitions and a roster built to compete in every tournament it enters.

Building a Character-Filled Squad for a Long Journey

“The new season is auspicious for our community,” Ömer Onan said to Fenerbahçe Television. “Our team has gathered, we spoke a bit today, and the first training sessions are beginning. It will be a long season and a long journey. But our team; with its coach, technical staff, and players, is a character-filled team.”

The club has established a firm foothold among Europe’s elite over the past seven to eight years, consistently positioning itself as a primary title contender across all entered competitions, according to Ömer Onan. The organization aims to maintain that competitive standard throughout the grueling schedule.

“I told our player brothers during our talk: let it be a healthy season,” Ömer Onan added. “They are already working very hard, they will give great effort, but let luck also be on our side. There will be ups and downs during the season, but this team is a candidate for every trophy everywhere.”

Club management emphasized that financial backing and presidential support remain firmly in place for the squad. According to Ömer Onan, club president Ali Koç regularly attends matches to back the players while providing continuous budgetary backing for the basketball branch.

“Our President already comes to matches to support us and has always provided that support in terms of the budget,” Ömer Onan stated. “Our President and we as the Board of Directors are already always behind them, and we will be with them as much as we can. Hopefully, everything goes well.”
