The Badminton & Croquet Club Lecco secured a total of eight medals at the Grand Prix of Malles, according to regional reports. Six club athletes competed in the tournament held at the gymnasium of the Scuola Claudia Von Medici in Malles Venosta, Italy.

Brothers Alex and Mattia Cattaneo led the Lecco delegation by capturing two gold medals in their respective doubles categories, as reported by local sports coverages. Alex teamed up with Jakob Stauder of Uberetsch to contest the Under-13 Boys’ Doubles final. After dropping the opening set, the pair mounted a comeback against the Malles duo of Unterberger and Ceol, ultimately clinching the title in three tight sets with scores of 8-15, 15-13, and 15-13.

In the Under-17 Boys’ Doubles, Mattia Cattaneo partnered with Felix Tragust Atz, also representing Uberetsch. The pairing secured the gold medal in straight sets, defeating the team of Lagasio from Il Punto and Cardillo from Pietrarossa 18-16 and 15-11.

Prior to the weekend tournament, the club’s athletes participated in a five-day training camp in Val Venosta hosted at ASV Malles, featuring two daily training sessions under the supervision of coaching staff.
