While her parents used the property primarily for weekends and holidays, the environment provided foundational milestones for the young artist. According to Motis, she was navigating short distances through the village by age six, visiting friends near the local church and the town soccer field. Expanding Boundaries on Two Wheels

Recollecting those excursions, she noted riding along rural tracks from village to village, journeying as far as Sant Jaume de Llierca on what she characterized as a short and picturesque route, as well as extending her bicycle rides out toward Besalú. Such excursions, she noted, provided an early sense of autonomy that would have been unattainable in Barcelona, where she did not walk unaccompanied on city streets until she reached eleven years of age.
