FFTA Engaged in France’s Olympic and Paralympic Week 2026
The French Taekwondo Federation (FFTA) is actively participating in the 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Week (SOP), a nationwide initiative promoting sports engagement and Olympic values across France from March 30 to April 4, 2026.
This annual event, now in its 10th edition, is organized by the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) and the French Paralympic and Sports Committee (CPSF). The 2026 edition centers on the theme of “engagement,” encompassing athletic participation, volunteerism, and fan support.
The FFTA’s involvement focuses on leveraging the SOP platform to advance taekwondo’s visibility and accessibility. According to the French Taekwondo and Associated Disciplines Federation (FFTDA), clubs affiliated with the federation can organize initiation sessions for schools and families, conduct parasport awareness workshops featuring para-taekwondo demonstrations, and host meetings with local athletes or ambassadors to inspire participants.
These activities aim to introduce taekwondo to new audiences, strengthen ties with educational institutions and local communities, promote inclusion through adapted sessions for individuals with disabilities, and reinforce Olympic values such as respect, perseverance, and solidarity.
The FFTDA emphasizes that the SOP provides a unique opportunity for taekwondo clubs to showcase their sport while aligning with the broader national movement to encourage youth sports participation and civic engagement rooted in Olympism and Paralympism.
As France continues to build momentum toward hosting future international sporting events, initiatives like the SOP play a crucial role in grassroots sports development. The FFTA’s participation reflects its commitment to growing taekwondo at the community level while supporting national objectives for sports accessibility and education.
The 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Week represents a significant moment for French sports federations to collaborate on shared goals of inclusion, education, and athletic promotion. For the FFTA, this engagement underscores its role in contributing to France’s sporting ecosystem through tangible community outreach.
Looking ahead, the FFTA will continue to monitor opportunities arising from the SOP to further develop partnerships with schools and local organizations, ensuring taekwondo remains accessible and visible within France’s diverse sporting landscape.
